Characteristics of gear reducers

Gear reducer is an application of planetary drive principle, using gear meshing. This type of reducer motor has replaced two-stage and three-stage ordinary cylindrical gear reducer motors and cylindrical worm reducer motors in the vast majority of cases. It has the following characteristics:

1. Drive efficiency. Due to the use of rolling engagement in the meshing area, the primary driving efficiency is generally between 90% and 95%.

2. Compact structure, small volume, and light weight. Compared with ordinary cylindrical gear reducers, the volume of planetary reduction motors can be reduced by 2/1-2/3.

3. Less faults and longer lifespan. The main driving components are manufactured using bearing steel grinding, resulting in excellent mechanical and wear resistance. Additionally, due to its rolling friction, it has fewer failures and a longer lifespan.

4. Smooth and reliable operation. Due to the multi tooth meshing during the driving process, it operates smoothly and reliably with low noise.

5. Easy to disassemble and repair.

6. Strong overload capacity, impact resistance, low inertia moment, suitable for frequent starting and forward and reverse rotation.

7. The driving ratio is large. The driving ratio during first level deceleration is 1/6-1/87. The driving ratio during two-stage deceleration is 1/99-1/7569; The driving ratio during three-level driving is 1/5841-1/658503. In addition, multi-level combinations can be used as needed to achieve a specified speed ratio.

The main products include planetary reduction motors, gear reduction motors, and gear driven products such as reduction motors.

Typical application scenarios
Industrial robots: used for joint transmission, requiring high precision and low backlash (such as RV reducers based on planetary gear principles).

New energy vehicles: Drive the motor reducer, which needs to balance high speed (tens of thousands of revolutions per minute) and high torque output.

Aerospace: Satellite antenna drive, aircraft landing gear retraction system, requiring lightweight and high reliability.

Construction machinery: The walking and rotating mechanism of excavators and cranes, suitable for heavy loads and harsh working conditions.

The planetary reducer achieves the performance advantages of "small volume, large transmission ratio, and high load capacity" through the unique structure of the "planetary gear system", which is indispensable in fields that require compact transmission and heavy load conditions. The core of its design lies in balancing transmission efficiency, load-bearing capacity, and manufacturing costs. With the development of precision machining technology, planetary reducers are upgrading towards higher precision and lower noise.
