What is an explosion-proof servo motor?

Concept:

Explosion proof servo motor is a special motor that meets the GB3836 Ex d standard, specifically designed for environments with explosive gases or dust, such as petroleum, chemical, coal mines, grain warehouses, etc. The explosion-proof shell can withstand the pressure generated by the explosion of explosive gas mixtures inside, and has special structural gaps. When an explosion occurs inside, the explosion flame and high-temperature products are cooled and extinguished through these gaps, reducing energy and unable to ignite the explosive mixture around the shell, thus achieving explosion-proof effect

 

Core principle:

1. Explosion proof shell

Explosion proof equipment with a sufficiently sturdy casing can withstand an impact of 1.5 times (and not less than 3.5 × 10 ⁵ Pa) of the large explosion pressure generated by an internal explosive gas mixture explosion, ensuring no deformation or damage, and no permanent deformation. At the same time, the shell has specific structural gaps that allow the sprayed combustion products to be cooled through a certain flange length to below the self ignition temperature of the external explosive mixture, thereby preventing the spread of explosive flames and preventing the explosion from spreading.

2. Internal spark free design

Permanent magnet brushless technology: The rotor adopts permanent magnets, eliminates the electric brush structure, and eliminates commutation sparks from the source (in accordance with the requirement of "no sparks generated during normal operation" in GB3836.1).

Explosion proof components: Special processes are used for internal wires, connecting terminals, bearings, etc. (such as terminal sealing, anti friction spark treatment of bearings) to ensure no potential ignition sources.

3. Temperature group limit (T-Class)

When the motor is running, the high surface temperature of the outer shell and internal components shall not exceed the temperature group specified in GB3836.1 (such as T4 group ≤ 135 ℃) to prevent it from becoming an ignition source for external explosive environments.

4. Protection and sealing

The casing must meet the IP protection level (such as IP65/IP66) to prevent dust and water vapor from entering the interior and affecting the explosion-proof performance. The cable entry device adopts an explosion-proof sealing structure to ensure that external explosives do not enter the shell.
