The stepper motor itself has a holding torque, which can be used to lock the motor when powered on, equivalent to braking. But if the holding torque of the stepper motor is not large enough, a larger locking torque is needed, or if the stepper motor loses its holding torque after a power outage, it can be considered to use a stepper motor with a brake.

When the stepper motor loses power, the brake system instantly starts, firmly locking the motor shaft to prevent the equipment from naturally sliding or horizontally moving due to the working load caused by power failure, in order to maintain the original position of the work stop. Timely release after power on does not affect the normal operation of the motor.

The brake stepper motor is mainly suitable for vertical and horizontal motion transmission mechanisms. It is fixed in place after power failure and does not affect the normal operation of the motor when powered on. It is the preferred braking unit for Z-axis motion systems.

Performance characteristics of brake products:

1. Power failure braking has a fast response time, which is 10 times faster than ordinary spring pressed electromagnetic brakes.

2. Low power consumption and high holding torque; Low thermal equilibrium temperature, providing stable braking torque over a wide temperature range.

3. Small size, tightly integrated with the motor, overall beautiful.

4. Fully achieve high-speed zero loss silent operation and ultra long lifespan performance.

5. Easy to use and install, the brake unit only requires an external 24VDC connection

6. Suitable for 42, 57, and 86 type stepper motors.

7. Low power consumption, low temperature rise, and stable braking torque within a temperature range.

Overview of brake stepper motor:

Electromagnetic braking, also known as braking, reporting, or braking, instantly activates the braking system when the motor loses power, firmly locking the motor shaft and preventing the equipment from naturally sliding or horizontally moving due to the working load caused by the power outage, in order to maintain the original position of the work stop. Timely release after power on does not affect the normal operation of the motor.
The brake motor provided by Hanbang Motor adopts a new type of permanent magnet brake. Compared with ordinary spring brakes, permanent magnet brakes have a compact structure, easy installation, low noise, fast response, long service life, low heat generation, and low power consumption. They are an ideal modern automation actuator and suitable for high-precision positioning applications as stepper motors. The brake stepper motor covers models such as 42mm, 57mm, 86mm, etc., with high cost-effectiveness and high stability.

In the field of brake stepper motors:

Brake stepper motors are now widely used in multi axis linkage manipulators, automation equipment, fixtures, and other fields. Such as: fully automatic dispensing machines, engraving machines, automatic splitting machines, automatic soldering machines, semiconductor equipment, packaging machinery, textile machinery, CNC machine tools, biological analysis and detection instruments, various workstations, optical detection equipment, laser focusing equipment, cone drawing machines, automotive inspection and other automated equipment.
