Two common types of reducers in transmission devices
Gearboxes are generally used for low-speed and high torque transmission equipment, to reduce the speed of electric motors, internal combustion engines, or other high-speed power by meshing the small number of teeth on the input shaft of the gearbox with the large gear on the output shaft.

There are many types and models of reducers, and different types have different uses:
According to the transmission type, it can be divided into gear reducers, worm gear reducers, and planetary gear reducers.
According to the transmission series, it can be divided into single-stage and multi-stage reducers;
According to the shape of gears, they can be divided into cylindrical gear reducers, bevel gear reducers, and cone cylindrical gear reducers.
According to the arrangement of the transmission, it can be divided into expansion type, diversion type, and coaxial type reducers.
planetary reducer
Planetary reducers have small volume, high transmission efficiency, large reduction ratio, and high precision, and are widely used in servo, stepper and other transmission systems. Its function is to reduce the speed, increase the torque, and lower the load/motor moment of inertia ratio while ensuring precise transmission.
Due to structural reasons, planetary reducers typically have a single-stage reduction of 3 and a maximum reduction of 10. Common reduction ratios are 3/4/5/6/8/10, and the number of reducer stages generally does not exceed 3. However, some customized reducers with large reduction ratios have 4 stages of reduction.
Compared with other reducers, planetary reducers have the characteristics of high rigidity, high precision (less than 1 point per stage), high transmission efficiency (97% -98% per stage), high torque, volume ratio, and lifetime maintenance free. Due to these characteristics, planetary reducers are mostly installed on stepper motors and servo motors to reduce speed, increase torque, and match inertia.
NMRV worm gear reducer
There are mainly cylindrical worm gear reducers, circular arc worm gear reducers, cone worm gear reducers, and worm gear reducers, among which cylindrical worm gear reducers are commonly used.
Worm gear reducer is suitable for reduction ratios of 10~80. Compact structure, high transmission ratio, but low transmission efficiency, suitable for low-power and gap working environments. When the circumferential velocity V of the worm gear is ≤ 4~5m/s, the worm gear is of the downward type with good lubrication and cooling conditions; When V ≥ 4~5m/s, the agitation loss of oil is relatively large, and generally the worm gear is an upward type.
