The temperature rise level of different insulation materials is determined based on the maximum allowable ambient temperature of the motor and the maximum limit temperature that the insulation material used can withstand. By considering safety and process fluctuations, a certain margin can be left to determine the temperature rise limits for various insulation levels.
Insulation level:
The insulation level refers to the classification based on the maximum maximum temperature that the insulation material can withstand, known as the heat resistance level of the insulation material, which can be divided into the following levels:

Temperature rise: refers to the increase in temperature. It is the temperature difference between the motor and the environment, caused by heat generation.
The iron core of a running motor in an alternating magnetic field will produce iron loss, the winding will produce copper loss when energized, and there will be other stray losses, all of which will cause the motor to heat up and the temperature to rise. On the other hand, the motor also dissipates heat. When the heat dissipation is equal to the heat generation, an equilibrium state is reached, and the temperature of the motor no longer rises but stabilizes at an equilibrium.
When the heat generation increases or the heat dissipation decreases, the temperature of the motor continues to rise, expanding the temperature difference and increasing the heat dissipation. At a higher temperature, a new equilibrium is reached, and the temperature difference, that is, the temperature rise, also increases compared to before. Therefore, temperature rise is an important indicator for motor design and operation, indicating the degree of heat generation of the motor.
Temperature rise description of the motor: The temperature rise of a certain part of the motor is the difference between the temperature of that part and the ambient temperature in which it is located. The unit is K.
Temperature rise limit: The temperature rise level of different insulation materials is determined based on the maximum allowable ambient temperature of the motor and the maximum limit temperature that the insulation material used can withstand. By considering safety and process fluctuations, a certain margin can be left to determine the temperature rise limits for various insulation levels.
