When selecting a planetary gearbox, it is necessary to choose according to the specific requirements of the equipment. If a right angle planetary gearbox is required, then the appropriate model that meets the parameters for the gearbox's speed, torque, and speed ratio should be selected based on the operational needs of the equipment. And there will be significant differences between different forms of reducers, with the radial load of flange output reducers being much stronger than that of shaft output reducers. So in the process of selecting a planetary gearbox, there are many factors that need to be considered, and the specific ones are still based on the operation and load conditions of the equipment.

The reducer plays a role in matching speed and transmitting torque between the prime mover and the working machine or actuator, and is a relatively precise mechanical device. The purpose of using it is to reduce the speed and increase the torque. It has a wide variety of types, different models, and different types have different purposes. There are many types of reducers, which can be divided into gear reducers, worm reducers, and planetary gear reducers according to the transmission type; According to different transmission stages, it can be divided into single-stage and multi-stage reducers; According to the shape of gears, they can be divided into cylindrical gear reducers, bevel gear reducers, and cone cylindrical gear reducers; According to the arrangement of transmission, it can be divided into expansion type reducer, diversion type reducer, and coaxial type reducer.

Generally, servo motors have relatively high speeds, and ordinary gear reducers cannot be used in conjunction with servo motors. High speeds can cause aging and overheating of the sealing ring of the gear reducer. The input speed ratio of a typical gearbox is less than 1500rpm, while the input speed of a servo motor needs to reach 3000-6000rpm or above, and the speed of a planetary gearbox is around 3000-8000rpm, which precisely meets this requirement. Servo motors are commonly used motors in automation equipment, CNC machine tools, and intelligent robots. If the precision of the reducer used in combination is too low, it will affect the overall accuracy. Planetary reducers are also high-precision reducers, and the combination of the two will have a better effect. Today, we will introduce how to choose a planetary gearbox based on servo motors. You can consider the following aspects.

In the application of servo motors, when selecting a reducer based on the servo motor, the following precautions should be taken, mainly through multiple aspects to choose a reducer for the servo motor.

When choosing a reducer with a known servo motor, it is generally necessary to understand these two knowledge:

1. Low power servo motors can be used in conjunction with large reducers, but high-power motors cannot be used with small reducers;

2. Under the same specifications, a reducer with high rigidity will have better quality.

In addition, the matching of servo motors and reducers needs to consider these four dimensions: torque, speed, accuracy, and inertia ratio

Torque: In the application, assuming the rated torque of the motor is 8Nm and the speed ratio is 12, the rated torque of the selected reducer needs to be greater than 8 * 12. Therefore, torque mainly considers whether the motor, reducer, and speed ratio are applicable;

Accuracy: directly reflects the positioning accuracy of the equipment. The accuracy of planetary reducers can effectively improve the quality of workpieces. Some high-precision industries have higher requirements for the accuracy of reducers. Under normal cleaning conditions, the accuracy of planetary reducers is less than 3arcmin, and some reducers can achieve a minimum accuracy of<1arcmin;

Speed: The higher the device speed, the higher the efficiency;

Inertia ratio: The smaller the inertia ratio, the higher the dynamic stability of the equipment.
